Metabolic Syndrome Linked to Cognitive Impairment

Metabolic syndrome is what fat people get.
"Older women who have metabolic syndrome may be at risk of cognitive impairment, researchers here said.

Of women with the disorder, 7.2% developed cognitive impairment over a four-year study period, compared with only 4.1% of those without the syndrome, Kristine Yaffe, M.D., of the University of California San Francisco, and colleagues reported in the March issue of Archives of Neurology.

'Older women with the metabolic syndrome should be followed closely and possibly screened for cognitive impairments, and [should be] offered careful management of the metabolic syndrome issues,' Dr. Yaffe said."
Kudos, fatsos, though cognitive impairment is probably why you got fat in the first place.
