"Older women who have metabolic syndrome may be at risk of cognitive impairment, researchers here said.Kudos, fatsos, though cognitive impairment is probably why you got fat in the first place.
Of women with the disorder, 7.2% developed cognitive impairment over a four-year study period, compared with only 4.1% of those without the syndrome, Kristine Yaffe, M.D., of the University of California San Francisco, and colleagues reported in the March issue of Archives of Neurology.
'Older women with the metabolic syndrome should be followed closely and possibly screened for cognitive impairments, and [should be] offered careful management of the metabolic syndrome issues,' Dr. Yaffe said."
Fitness Watch is your site for making sense of fitness advice.
"Truth" has a shelf life.
The shelf life of "truth" is very short in the domains of fitness, health and well-being.
The reason is that so much of what we are told is "true" is really baseless.
At Fitness Watch we separate fitness information from fitness noise.
