Sheer genius!
The National Health Society has opened up a trust to spend on vibrating chairs. The chairs are intended to help obese people lose weight through massage. They are to be used while exposing overweight patients to tape recording convincing them to think thin and give up junk food."I am romantic about the NHS; I love it. All I need to do to rediscover the romance is to look at health care in my own country." Donald Berwick, MD, head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The Miruji chairs, which cost £5,000 each, are expected to save thousands of pounds in treating the obese. NHS bosses have compared them to gastric band operations, which are used by many patients and cost £15,000 each.
NOW, we understand why.
