"Many children spend too little time outdoors and too much time in front of the TV -- and a lack of suitable outdoor spaces seems partly to blame, an Australian study suggests. This is another example of misguided thinking.
The study, of nearly 1,400 10- to 12-year-olds, found that 37 percent typically spent a half-hour or less being active outside."
Where one spends time being active, makes no difference.
A burned Calorie is a burned Calorie.
Even though "exercise" is a terribly inefficient way to lose weight, which is the primary problem with recommending it for weight loss, taking the foolishness one step further and suggesting location is the issue and "but for it all would be well...," is little more than retarded excusinators working overtime.
Activity is activity no matter where it is done.
Waiting for the perfect environment to be active is a losing strategy.
It is the stupidity of hope.
It is not a plan of action.
