Non-smoking adults with a Body Mass Index (BMI) from 20 to 24.9 have a much lower risk of premature death than overweight or obese individuals, as well as extremely thin people, researchers wrote in the NEJM (New England Journal of Medicine). If your BMI is between 25 and 29.9 you are overweight, you are obese if it is over 30, severely obese if over 35. The World Health Organization defines those with a BMI of between 18.5 and 24.9 as being within normal ranges. Many countries define the ideal as between 20 and 24.9.Let the wisdom of the BMI be your guide, grasshopper.
