Over exercising: Too much of a good thing

Besides needing to fear this "problem" on a population basis similar to needing to fear an attack by rogue unicorns, the gross ignorance of another "expert," this time from Equinox Fitness, is typical.
Breaking up your fitness routine is hard to do. But it's crucial for avoiding the bigger heartache of overuse injury, fitness experts say.

"People tend to do the same thing over and over again, without varying it, without taking adequate rest, without building slowly, and they end up with an overuse injury," said Geralyn Coopersmith, national manager for the Equinox Fitness Training Institute.

"Tendonitis, bursitis, fasciitis, these kinds of inflammations are pretty much guaranteed if you don't' vary your training," said Coopersmith, who oversees the training of 1400 personal trainers in 48 Equinox clubs nationwide.
Hogwash.

Look at the real athletes and what they do.

They do a training routine.

The operative word is "routine."

Not "training surprise" or "training switcheroo." Training routine.

The real reason anybody associated with personal training recommends varying training is so you pay them to churn exercises.

This is like a stock broker churning stocks to make a commission on each purchase and sale.

Do not use a personal trainer unless you have money to burn, a disability and need some help, a dysfunctional brain and think you need some help, etc.
