Junkfood ads on TV blamed for child obesity

Of course the ads are blamed.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has asked all its member-countries, including India, to impose restrictions on TV commercials that promote unhealthy food items for children.

The Indian Council of Medical Research is drafting guidelines on foodstuff that children should avoid and once they are given finishing touches, restrictions will be imposed on television commercials trying to sell unhealthy food.

About 430000 children, including 110000 living in India, are obese or overweight.

Policymakers and health experts will meet in Geneva in September to discuss the impact of television commercials on the eating habits of young children and the need to curb them.

Health experts of the city welcomed the WHO's recommendations and agreed that television advertisements were hugely responsible for the spread of unhealthy foods.
They cannot talk back.

And who is to blame for adult fatsos? What is their excuse?

Junk food ads.
