"Studies have linked prenatal smoking to a higher risk of childhood obesity, but new findings suggest that effect may vary based on race and ethnicity. This will lead to many more millions wasted on fruitless research trying to customize "care."
In a study of more than 155,000 preschool children, U.S. researchers found that the link between mothers' smoking during pregnancy and their children's risk of obesity was most clear among white families.
In contrast, only heavy prenatal smoking was tied to childhood obesity among African Americans. And there was no clear evidence that it raised the odds of obesity among children of Hispanic, Native American or Asian descent." You can bet that there will be more and more studies showing genetic differences among people that purportedly are associated with overweight/obesity."
However, no matter your race, genetics or whatever people blame for their caloric irresponsibility, there is one "cure" that works for all, i.e., fewer Calories in than out.
And you have a choice.
Waste all of your hard-earned income contributing your tax dollars to this crap or step up and fight.
You decide.
If you choose to fight, here are two suggestions:
1. Contact FTC about the bad diet advice spewed by the experts.
2. contact your local child and family welfare services whenever you become aware of a story regarding fat children, i.e., nutritionally abused children, in which a physician, teacher, nurse or school principal is mentioned. Call to ask if the person reported the abuse to the agency. If not, complain since they are mandated by law to report it. They are lawbreakers for shirking their responsibilities. This makes them complicit in child abuse.
