"Exercise" is useless or worse for improving or maintaining physical fitness.
"Exercise" has value for functional fitness, i.e., if you do something you will not lose the ability to do it as you would if you did not do that thing.
What is correct about this article is:
"'The information that physicians are giving patients isn't working...'"That is clear.
That is because it is not "information"; it is misinformation.
If you want to pursue a training program, do it right.
If you want to lose weight, do it right.
To achieve either, "exercise" is of minimal to negative value.
