Brits 'now a nation of dieters'

Wrong.
"One in three adults in the UK is now on a permanent diet, research suggests."
"Brits 'now a nation of fat failed dieters.'"

Otherwise they would not be on a permanent diet.

Duh.

Why do they fail?

Expert diets.

If you don't want to fail, go here.

Don't go to the UK. Or to a diet expert.

Here is more crap.
"However, research has suggested that "yo-yo" diets are ineffective, and may actually carry a risk of weight gain in the longer term."
It is not the yo-yo dieting that is the problem or that it is ineffective.

After all, if you have ever seen a bodybuilder over a year or so, they are yo-yo dieting as they cycle through bulking and cutting diet routines.

Yo-yo dieting for the rest of us is simply a string of failed diet attempts. That's all.

The flaw is in the approach to dieting, not in being on a diet. Conventional diets are ineffective, dangerous and, in the end, deadly.

Yo-yo dieting is bad for the amateurs because each cycle is a starvation cycle that leads to overall weight gain as fat.

And the heavier you get from fat, the higher your BMI.

The higher your BMI, the greater your likelihood of developing a bad disease.

This is due to the underlying flaw common to all diets. See here and here.

And to morons/experts like this guy:

"Dr Ian Campbell, medical director of the charity Weight Concern, said he was not surprised by the findings.

'I think it's important that we do take our weight seriously, and monitor our food intake and activity levels regularly.

'Two thirds of us are already overweight. However we need to move away from the concept of 'dieting' towards one of 'healthy diet'.

'The best thing the supermarkets could do to help this would be to place their focus on healthy food choices.'"

Eating to achieve and maintain a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is the only healthy way to eat of which we are aware.

How you get there is a personal choice.

Anything else is voodoo.
