If you ever need to quickly determine if an article is full of it, look to the first sentence. If it begins like this, Bingo! Crap.
"Remarkable new research into the way environmental factors affect the development of the brain has opened up the possibility that an infant's future mental abilities and susceptibility to mental illness can be permanently altered by dietary changes in early life."Any article starting with "remarkable" or "cutting edge" or anything other than an understated opening is trying to mislead you.
That is not to say that the more subdued ones are harmless or honest. Those you have to read more fully to determine their quality.
But ones like this are no-brainers.
