"The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has updated its guidelines for appropriate physical activity (PA) intervention strategies for weight loss and prevention of weight regain in adults...Here they go again.
Guidelines regarding weight control are needed because more than 66% of the adult population has overweight or obesity, which is associated with a variety of chronic diseases...For prevention of weight gain in most adults, PA of 150 to 250 minutes per week..
To maintain weight after weight loss, some studies suggest that PA of approximately 200 to 300 minutes per week will help minimize weight regain...
How is it that more exercise is needed to keep weight stable and less exercise is needed to lose weight?
Shouldn't more exercise lead to more weight loss?
In a rational world, the answer would be "Yes."
Forget the rational world.
It is dead.
