"People who are in poor shape as young adults are at greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes later on, new research in the journal Diabetes Care shows...Duh.
The researchers also found that people who had developed diabetes after 20 years showed larger fitness declines during that time than people who remained free of the disease.
Obesity accounted for most of the fitness-diabetes relationship, the researchers found.
'Maintaining a healthy body weight is definitely key,' Carnethon said. Other studies, she added, have shown that getting 150 minutes of exercise a week can cut type 2 diabetes risk."
And now for some researcher moron-osity:
"Based on the current research, she added, young adults should 'follow the physical activity recommendations that are out there with the goal of maintaining body weight.'"DO NOT follow the stupid "physical activity recommendations that are out there.
They are doomed to fail you.
First, gain control of your Calories in.
Then, if you choose, add physical activity, i.e., training.
To do otherwise is almost always fatal to success.
