Overweight Travelers Paying Extra

Yippee!
"One airline ticket for one person makes perfect sense, but some overweight customers say it's a matter of prejudice."
Clearly not prejudice.

Prejudice is, by definition, a pre-judgment.

This is not a pre-judgment. It is a real-time decision based on personal inspection and criteria.
"Imagine waiting in a busy line at the airport and you are pulled aside because of your weight.

'Humiliating and mortified, like really upset. She is till (sic) upset,' said Judith Harvey of Berlin, N.J."

And you and she are still fat.

If you are humiliated by your immense size AND want special treatment, like a free seat, fly in steerage like any other oversized animal. Or buy another seat. Take the money from your elephant kibble budget.

"'I am certainly not going to have my rights violated,' said Judith."

It is not your right to have a free seat.

"Judith has no plans to pay for an extra seat when she travels to see her sister for the holiday.

'I will not take no for an answer.'"

Apparently "No" is not the answer you offer to food, either.

"Southwest Airlines requires for passengers to pay for additional tickets if the airline believes the passenger cannot comfortably put the arm rest down next to another passenger's seat.

The airline issues refunds if passengers pay for additional tickets and the plane is not full."

Fat passengers are also a safety hazard in the skies.

Kudos to Southwest Airlines. Support them.
