"Merck says selling a low dose of this long-used medication on drugstore shelves, next to the aspirin, could get millions of people at moderate risk of heart disease important treatment that they otherwise may miss."It may also be placed close to the candy bars, chips, etc.
There is one advantage to this scheme.
If it becomes an out-of-pocket expense for fat folk who have been bleeding the rest of us poor with their fat people diet drug habits, then it is arguably worth it. (advantage lost, FDA rejected OTC status for this drug)
Still, the better approach is to get fit.
In fact, why don't all of you unfit and overweight folk take a moratorium from supporting the people at Merck who want to see you and keep you sick and visit here, here, here, here, here, and here where I want to see you well.
"Health is a function of participation. Participation is a function of fitness." (tm)
