Airborne to Refund Consumers

Another small victory for consumers against the Big Lie machine.
"People who have taken the herbal formula Airborne with the hope of curing or fending off the common cold are eligible for refunds from the company.

Airborne will pay $23.3. million to settle a class action lawsuit over false advertising. Legal battles beginning in 2006 called into question the product's claims as a 'miracle cold buster.'...

But a February 2006 investigation by ABC's 'Good Morning America' found Airborne might not work as advertised. The investigation revealed that Airborne's clinical trial was conducted by just two people in the absence of a clinic or scientists."

This Airborne crap, of course, does not work.

But, even more importantly, the predators at ABCNews, with all their self-congratulatory back-slapping seem to have missed that the Killer Queen of Fitness, their own Oprah Winfrey:

"...had Victoria (the "inventor" of Airborne) on there for 20 minutes, told her it was the most amazing product she'd ever seen," Rider McDowell said."

Oprah's endorsement prompted more people to fall victim to the fraud:

"Invented by a substitute teacher, backed by flight attendants and advertised by an actor who bared his backside in a TV commercial that was supposed to run during Sunday's Super Bowl, Airborne is flying off the shelves. The demand began when talk-show personality Oprah Winfrey endorsed the herbal remedy in mid-December, creating such a run on the product that retailers only recently caught up."

Oprah's involvement in defrauding consumers is nothing new, IMHO.

Neither is her complicity in promoting products from which she stands to benefit.

Further ABC's Good Morning America clearly offers-up misleading and inaccurate fitness information, which can only hurt its viewers.

But what do you expect?

The lifeblood of ABCNews "World News Tonight" is advertising money from Big Pharma which occasionally even sponsors the program with "limited commercial interruption" - all of the limited commercials are for drugs.

The takeaway point is that this layered scheme of predator atop predator is hurting you and your kids financially, physically, emotionally, mentally.

Give yourself and your children a chance and fight back.
