"U.S. health regulators on Thursday debated a consumer group's bid to boost regulation of salt in food and revoke the ingredient's "generally recognized as safe" status...Okay. Get it out of the food.
'Clearly, salt should be considered generally recognized as dangerous, not safe,' said Michael Jacobson, executive director of the group, which has petitioned and sued the agency over the years."
How will you get it off the table or out of the kitchen?
You can see the success of low/reduced Calorie foods on the shelves and as options in restaurants.
This will likely meet with similar success, though I believe it to have a slightly greater chance of not failing completely.
Can't help but wonder when knives, cars, etc., will also "be considered generally recognized as dangerous, not safe."
