"According to the Times, neither Democratic candidate has said, 'in any detail, how they would slow the growth of Medicare and Medicaid or what they think about the main policy options' -- such as 'rationing care, raising taxes, cutting payments to providers or requiring beneficiaries to pay more.' In addition, neither Democratic candidate has said 'how they would overcome the health care industry lobby, which has blocked proposals for even modest reductions in Medicare payment rates,' the Times reports."Much of the costs we face are from chronic conditions resulting from overfatness.
These loons are denying the obvious: overweight/obesity are not medical conditions and that medical approaches to solving them will never work.
The issue is not one of rationing care re: overweight/obesity. It is a matter of recognizing that there is no medical means to "care" for these matters of personal and familial responsibility.
Policies such as those advocated by the candidates, whoever they may be, will never work except to bankrupt the system more quickly.
Here is a watered-down step one to getting it right. What should be done is the cutting off of all payment for this malpractice.
Then we can move on to the next steps.
