As I have been saying for years, it is not about "healthy foods."
It is about Calories In and Calories Out. Period.
And it will always be about Calories In and Calories Out. Period.
There is no "paradox" and the study is unimportant.
"An important new study from the Journal of Consumer Research explains the 'American obesity paradox': the parallel rise in obesity rates and the popularity of healthier food. In a series of four studies, the researchers reveal that we over-generalize 'healthy' claims. In fact, consumers chose beverages, side dishes, and desserts containing up to 131% more calories when the main dish was positioned as 'healthy'."It is just another example of the operational characteristics and expected results of the predators feeding crap to a desperate and hopeful public.
And with the governments' (federal, state and local) complicity.
The crap in this case is the conversation that there is any relationship between "healthy food" and weight.
There is none.
There is a relationship between lying about it and profits.
And here is their Johnny-come-lately epiphany:
"As they explain: 'More generally, we need to think about food not just qualitatively (as in 'good food -- bad food') but also quantitatively (as in 'how many calories are in this meal?')."Duh.
Bottom line, folks. IMHO, the sooner you realize that it is the:
