"Defects in working memory — the brain's temporary storage bin — may explain why one child cannot read her history book and another gets lost in algebra, new research suggests. As many as 10 percent of school age children may suffer from poor working memory, British researchers said in a report last week, yet the problem remains rarely identified."
Though not one and the same, memory is likely related to stupid.
For years, I have been advocating for research into stupid.
This would explain and serve to correct lots of fitness problems. Here are a very few examples:
the stupidity of overeating Calories
the stupidity of overfatness research as a means to "cure" too fat
the stupidity of expecting surgical, medical, hormonal, genetic, etc., cures for too fat
the stupidity of taxing certain foods instead of taxing uber-sized clothing, and other fat person stuff
the stupidity of following the fitness advice of fat people, like Oprah and her experts (see here, here, here, here and here)
In fact, "curing" stupid can solve many problems.
Kudos to these researchers who are working, albeit collaterally, on the real problem.
